THREATENED MY ANOTHER AIDPAGE MEMBER AFTER BEING REMOVED FROM SITE

Anyone who has exchanged messages with me or has approached me for help since I joined Aidpage are aware that my efforts are sincere. My passion to help others comes from my within heart, which is the only reason I am here. In doing so, I sometimes let my guard down and put my trust in the wrong people. On Saturday, February 19th, I responded to the request of an individual who had posted her story on Aidpage that same day. I had every intention in putting my efforts in full-force once again as I had done in the past in order to get some help for this individual. She wanted to send me some pictures that she was unable to upload to Aidpage, so she asked for my personal email address. Being the trusting person I am, I willingly gave it to her without any further thought. Meanwhile, another individual popped up out of nowhere onto Aidpage and began sending me numerous private emails, warning me NOT to help this person. Then without warning, both users were suddenly removed from Aidpage and I had no idea what had happened.

About an hour later, I checked my personal email and found a threatening email from the first individual who I had given my email address to. Since I was the one who had responded to her request for help, she mistakenly thought that I was responsible for having her profile removed from Aidpage, which triggered the threatening email to me. This frightened me so badly that I immediately reported the threat to the CEO and security department of my Internet carrier and they have advised me to file a police report.

I just wanted to share this story with others on Aidpage so that you won’t make the same mistake as I did. Please be careful as to whom you trust.

those people are making it hard for those who genuinely need the help in life... it is very hard to trust people I know this because when I wasn't in my situation now I helped somebody out with everything and they completely betrayed me. I'm sorry to hear that you have been a victim of this type of behaviour it is not acceptable. god bless you.

 in response to Inspiration...   There are some people that are so full of greed and bitterness that they dont realize the blessing that they are missing out on. Those are the people that we just have to turn over to God. You did the right thing by contacting police. You should never have to feel threatened by anyone. I am glad you were able to resolve this.

Thank you for your kind words. I filed a police report against this person as I was instructed to do and was able to find out her name and address so that I won't be targeted by her again. What this person doesn't realize is that I was truly going to help her and that I had already made contacts with some very reputable companies who would have teamed up with me to get her the help she needed. Therefore, by making this threat toward me based on a false assumption, she only robbed herself of the many blessings that I could have and would have helped her receive. When I help someone, I don't stop until I am satisfied that their needs are met.

I am so sorry this happened. This post was very upsetting, because some people are so thoughtless and hurting towards others. I pray things are well with you now.

oh my you poor thing your a good person dont let any one take that from you your an angel in my book with a halo on your head your kindness to others mean so much to me at time when life is rught for me i get comfort going to your site to read your warm letters to other and again im good and ready to handle another day ..you touch me so much i thought their was no more kindness in the world left but you still giving to others with this kindness i thought was no more ,thank you my friend and so sorry you had to go thrue this unfair treatment dont give up i need your kindness as other do to .

Hi, I am new here, and sorry who had to go through that experience. I have a fundraising page with Givefroward.com As tweeted for help for Peachy someone typed my full name (got from Giveforward, and questioned not listing medical vet on fundraising page) Using full caps. Question my legitmacy and spreading my name on twit.

The danger is out there for abuse. Are they not regulations, out there for such things.

 in response to Inspiration...   I hope you have or are finding ways of peace to deal with this.I know that it is scary and painfull, knowing that someone you were trusting to be a good person turns out to be hurtfull.
I keep praying that whom ever threatened you that God will show them the wrong of what they did to you and help them to be a better person.

I am so sorry to hear that this happened to you. You are such an amazing person, and you do put your heart into helping others. All we really can do is pray for those whom are weak minded and hurtfull to others. If you do/did file a report with your police, I hope they are more helpfull than here. (Police wont take a report for online threats unless it is someone you personally know, and you have their contact info.The reason is,because the police dont feel a stranger whom you dont know cant really do harm to you thru emails,unless you gave them your name and other info, then they take it more serious.)---I personally think our police don't take it serious because our station is out dated, its very much like Boss Hog's station from the Dukes of Hazzard.
I am glad you shared this with all of us, I am truely sorry tho that this happened to you.

I am doing okay too. My leg seems to be better. Don't know for sure. I have to get some kind of creme for it and went back to homeopathy this morning as the lady wanted me not to take it again for a few days. I said the heck with it and took it. Then got an email telling me to take it once a day and use calendula creme on it. It will heal. I am not going to let it get worse..
All is well.
Oh yes people can be strange. Reminds me of the Doors song, People are Strange.
For the most part people are good.

Just wanted to add something... We explicitely recommend against sharing personal contact info (real name, email, phone number, street address) - see this post...

One of the reasons is obviously to keep your personal identity and privacy protected from verbal threats and harassment.
